Is there a known or unknown conflict between windows xp sp2 and bt voyager modems and aol? BT Voyager ADSL Modem HELP we went over to england at the weekend and my husband fixed the problem, it seems that my brothers fax was trying to use coyager modem and also needed a little more memory, AOL did not even ask them to tryu these things, but at least he is online 15 ,so thank you all for your advice Helen.

For the modem to immediately find it again after losing it tends to suggest to me it's just another of BT's wonderful modems I have 4 handsets on my digital phone system, all on remote bases except the vouager which connects to the main socket and the modem for the PC, so I had a REN value of 6.

A friend of mine had the same difficulty, I think it does come from updating drivers, and possibly the AOL software Contact Us - The Scream! BT Voyager ADSL Modem HELP i too have a Voyager -BT Silver - its been fine up to now, i got disconnected last night, tried to rconnect and it wont get passed 'initiallising modem' part on the AOL sign in screen - both the power and DSL lights are on on the modem and the filter is ok, and i even changed the for a brand new voyager and it still wont get passed the initiallising modem stage I'd install the AOL ones though as you never know and it's the safer option.
Does ne1 have any idea of what 2 do If the modem is connected to a router and your PC is getting the correct IP address from the router default is In changing to another ISP, I now have the apparently dreaded Voyager modem rather than theand i get connected ok, but randomly could be 10 minutes, but usually around 6 hours a while after i connect, it suddenly loses the dsl signal the centre LED flashes and then immediately finds it again, resulting in my dis-connection from the net.

Hi any modem should be ok using a new DUN connection rather than using AOL software I use an older model Speedtouch modem but my unsupported Sagem modem works just as well. This was a clean install so there should not have been a problem with the loaded drivers.

My mum received this modem from AOL over Christmas and I had exactly the same problems as described here. Ive not seen this particular pc since last week, but Ill see it again tomorrow and be expected to sort the prob out, so im looking for answers or ideas, because the answers I can give to any questions are very limited.

Your friend should have Googled for you: I'm assuming that you are getting an ip address from BT so are you getting the correct ip?
