The main reason I don't like the cherry keyboards and most other keyboards is the angle of the keys and the non-integrated wrist-rest. Could we just snatch out Logitechs proprietary chip and stick an arduino in there? I imagine it could be done in software somehow.

Want to add to the discussion? I was amazed how much better my Razer Megladon worked wetpoint Ubuntu versus W7. All the buttons are detectable in xev right now.

I only use Logitech mice. Many thanks in advance. I certainly won't buy another product until it has proper support, but until then I'll try to reverse-engineer the USB protocol for the unifying receivers.

You currently have javascript disabled. I have not needed to install any sort of proprietary software in any operating system to make full use of the mice. Community Forum Software by IP. Would anyone be interested in a reverse-engineered spec?

Just making them take the initial steps of supporting one of their products would go a long way; it's easy to add support for similar products to an logifech code base.

I have a PerfMX and love it, and have used it almost exclusively in Linux since I got it some two years ago.

Free, Libre and open source software FLOSS means that everyone has the freedom to use it, see how it works, and change it. If it becomes clear that we won't get support in the near future, I'll attempt to reverse-engineer the USB protocol for at least setting the Stepoint for a single mouse connected to the receiver. So you're saying because there's no commits by logitech. I use my current laptop as a desktop, and I prefer to use an external mouse. Ask Ubuntu works best with JavaScript enabled.

I have now dual booted with Ubuntu 7. Take some time to get the feel of the subreddit if you're not sure! I called their tech support to see if it could be replaced, and was told that the speakers ilnux not compatible with Linux. Wireshark can do USB sniffing I don't know enough quite yet, but it's likely possible to burn our own firmware into whatever chip as long as it supports either SPI or parallel programming.
